Apple has sent out invites for a new event. After releasing new iPhones last month, it’s now time for its big brother to get updated, the iPad. The invite reads “There’s more in the making.”
The event will take place in New York City at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Tuesday, October 30.
What to expect:
- New iPads with edge-to-edge displays. Similar to the iPhones with the notch on the top of the screen for Face ID features. There are also rumors that the new iPad Pro will have a USB-C port and be able to be connected to an external monitor. This would be Apple’s first iOS device with a USB-C port.
- New Macs. There’s a chance that the Mac Mini and MacBook will get an update.
- Information about the AirPower wireless charging pad that was shown last year at the iPhone X event, but ended up delayed due to engineering issues. A lot of hopeful iPhone users will be watching and hope for news on this product.
The only thing I am 100% sure about that we will see are the new iPads, and everything else on top of that is just a pleasant surprise. I would love to see iPads with even better battery life. I always take my iPad camping with me, and I can watch a lot of downloaded Netflix shows before having to worry about charging it.
You can follow the event live at Apple’s website on Tuesday, starting 10 a.m. Eastern time (7 a.m. Pacific).
