How To Measure A Class A For The Right RV Cover
The RV covers listed below all offer a slightly fitted universal fit for Class A motorhomes. First measure from the highest point to the lowest point of your class A. If there is an attached ladder measure to the top of it.
You don’t have to measure the AC units unless the company specifically says you should as these are already factored in. Measure to under the RV, not to the ground.
Then measure the length of the trailer from the front bumper to the back, including the ladder and spare tire if you have one. The RV length measurement is the most important and the one you will use to pick the right size of RV cover.
Side Note: Most RV covers are measured this way. If there is an exception I will not on that specific product. Otherwise, this is the proper way to measure for a Class A cover.

ADCO Designer Series SFS Class A RV Cover
ADCO is a popular maker of RV covers and they offer the most sizes for Class A RVs. If you want a snug more custom fit they may be the best option.
They even have a special cover for Winnebago Class A’s. I’ll link to them at the bottom of this review.
The ACCO RV cover has 3 layers of protection on the top and side layers. The top is made with AquaShed fabric which is water and UV repellent.
The 3 side layers are made with polypropylene which is durable and will protect your RV from all rain, snow, sun, and wind.
The Designer Series is made for moderate climates that get a lot of rainfall. It’s a more breathable version than their RV cover that is made with a white top layer for better sun protection (click to view on Amazon). The white top version comes in 6 different sizes.
Both the Sun and the WaterShed Designer Series RV covers come with integrated wind straps which are weighted for easy “toss under” installation.
The front and back also have straps that can be used to snug up the cover for a more custom fit. There are 3 vents on each side for reduced wind stress and better breathability and moisture control.

Note that the ADCO RV covers are great for moderate and rainy climates but they do have some issues with tearing in strong winds.
There are 3 zippered access panels on the driver side so you can still get into your RV and the outer storage doors without having to remove the RV cover.
Included with the RV cover are rain gutter protectors, a storage bag, a ladder cap, and an adhesive repair patch.
The Winnebago Class A RV Cover has all the same features as the Designer Series but it’s made to fit Winnebago Class A RV’s better and has a unique vintage design.
It comes in 4 sizes: 25-28 foot, 28-31 foot, 34-37 foot, and 37-40 foot.
The ADCO Designer Series SFS Class A RV Covers are popular because of their many size options and stylish covers but they are a better choice for moderate climates than they are for sunny, windy places like the southwest.
For winter storage in the snow, they are a fantastic option because ADCO covers can be more breathable than other kinds.

Camco is a huge name in RVing and camping gear, not surprisingly they make RV covers. The Camco Ultra Guard for Class A RVs is made with 3 layers of SFS water-resistant fabric on the top and 3 layers on the sides.
It’s set up like a lot of classic RV covers with straps on the sides, front, and back that can be used to secure the cover to the RV and make it windproof.
The Camco RV cover also has vents to reduce wind stress and prevent moisture build-up under the cover.

The front and rear use tension panels and two straps that create an X to tighten the entire cover for a secure snug fit. The corners are reinforced for durability in the wind.

The front straps also act as tension pulls and can be used to snug up the cover for a secure fit.

How To Measure A Class B For The Right RV Cover
The most important measurement for a Class B RV Cover is the length. Measure the longest points on your Class B, bumper to back. Be sure to include the spare tire, ladder, and even bike rack if you plan on putting the cover over it.
The height measurement can be a little more tricky. Make sure you measure from the tallest part of your Class B to under the bumper. If your Class B has an AC unit on top you will have to measure that as well.
Class B covers are made for different styles of vans as well so make sure you get one that matches your style of Class B.
See Also: How To Wire Multiple 12V Or 6V Batteries To An RV
If the measurements for the Class B cover are close to the edge of the vehicle measurements you may want to get a size larger as stretching the fabric too much will cause it to wear faster and may even tear a hole in windy conditions.

It’s more windproof than most covers and has a thick UV resistant 3-ply roof fabric that is durable and better for sunny and windy climates.
One thing people need to understand about RV covers is most of them are not truly waterproof. They are water repellent which means in heavy rains the RV under the cover may get wet.

Best Class C RV Covers
How To Measure A Class C For The Right RV Cover
To measure for a Class C RV cover you start by measuring the tallest point on the RV with the lowest point under the RV.
Include any AC units or vents depending on which is taller. Most RV covers have a set height so even though the length might be right the height could be too short.
A Class C cover that is too short won’t offer full protection from the elements and it will have more problems in the wind.
So make sure the brand you choose has an RV cover height that is compatible with your Class C.
The length is very important as well. Measure from the front bumper all the way to the thing that sticks out the furthest on the back.
This will include the ladder or spare tire whichever is longest. If your Class C doesn’t have either of those just measure to the furthest point on the back bumper.
See Also: Best Small Portable Propane Heater For Indoor & RV Use
It’s recommended to always measure your RV by hand instead of going by the factory measurements in the book because things like AC units and spare tires may not have been factored in.
Getting an RV cover that fits properly is important to its durability which means you want a cover that fits just right.
Best Class C Cover
Last update on 2023-09-22 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API
The RVMasking Class C cover has a lot to offer as far as protection from the elements. The roof is made with 6 layers of UV and water-resistant material.
The sides have 3 fabric layers with an extra PVC cotton lining on the inside to protect the exterior of your Class C when the cover is being installed or moving around in the wind.
All the seams are double-stitched and reinforced so they will not tear in windstorms and come apart from sun damage.
Covers tearing at stress points like corners and around the roof can be a problem for thinner RV covers but RVMasking has reinforced everything with thick fabric to stop this kind of damage from happening.
The more secure the cover is around your RV the less it will flap around in the wind.
The RVMasking covers use 10 waterproof straps and buckles that are integrated into the side fabric of the cover to help secure everything against the wind.
There are even tension panels on the front and back that help snug up the cover around your RV for a more custom fit.
See Also: How To Maintain RV Holding Tanks To Prevent Clogs & Odors
The hems are elastic and there are 4 access points with heavy-duty zippers and velcro straps that are used to secure the zippers when closed so they don’t unzip in the wind.
One thing RVMasking does very well is air vents. They have more vents in their RV covers than any other brand with 3 one each side as well as one in the front and back.
That means the cover is less stressed in the wind because the air has somewhere to go and the inside of the cover and RV will dry faster after a heavy rainstorm. This reduces the risk of mildew and mold.
Included with the Class C cover is an adhesive repair patch, a ladder cap, 6 gutter protectors which strengthen the areas where the RV gutter stick out and into the cover, two toss bags, and a storage bag.
Thre are two size options for the Class C covers, 23-26 feet, and 26-29 feet. Each version is 101 inches (8 feet 5 inches) wide and 111 inches (9 feet 3 inches) tall so make sure you measure everything on the roof of your Class C to be sure the RV cover is long enough.
The RVMasking Class C RV Cover is a fantastic Class C cover and my choice for the best option out there.
The only downside is the limited size options but with the front and back tension panels even if the cover is a little bit too big you can snug it up and make it fit the way it’s supposed to.
As far as total protection and durability it doesn’t get much better than the RVMasking Class C cover.

Classic Accessories PolyPro 3 Deluxe Class C Cover
The Classic Accessories PolyPro 3 Class C cover offers good protection for mild climates and covered storage but may not be the best option for all-weather outdoor storage especially in hot sunny climates.

The roof is made with 3 ply UV and water repellent fabric that offers great protection from dust, bird poop, and mild weather. The sides are made with only one layer of polypropylene. It’s breathable, but not super durable for climates with strong wind and sun.
There are adjustable tension panels on the front and back as well as straps that go about a quarter of the way up on the sides of the cover to secure it to the Class C RV.
The corner hems are elastic, there are air vents along the top portion on the sides, and zippered access panels allow you to access the passenger side and front of the RV.
Included with the Class C RV cover are a storage bag, a ladder cap, and toss bags.

One of the best parts about Classic Accessories Class C covers is the 7 size options. With them, you can get an RV cover that will fit a Class C from as short as 20 feet to as long as 38 feet.
The first five size options that range from 20-32 feet are around 8 feet 9 inches wide and 10 feet 2 inches tall. The 32-35 foot option is 10 feet 5 inches tall and the 35-38 foot option is 11 feet 3 inches tall.
Will all of the different sizes and lengths there sure to be one that will fit your Class C.
Classic Accessories recommends measuring from the ground to the roofline but you can also measure from the bottom of the RV body to the highest point on the roof.
The Classic Accessories PolyPro 3 Deluxe Class C Cover is a great option for just a little bit more protection for you Class C when not in use. It’s a great option for when your RV is stored under an open roof.
It will protect the exterior from dust and bird poop, some sun, and the occasional rainstorm, but I don’t recommend this cover for open year-round storage.

Amazon Basics Class C RV Cover
The Amazon Basics Class C cover is another great option for open RV storage that is under a roof but is mostly open. It offers protection from the sun and any snow or rain that may get in through the open side.
The roof is made with 3 layers of thick UV and water-resistant material and the sides are made with one layer of protective but thin and breathable material.
One thing about this RV cover is it’s actually see through which shows how thin the side layer really is.
This RV cover is a good option if you want to keep the dust off your Class C during winter storage and if you need something that is very breathable in climates that are more prone to mold and mildew growth.
There are two tension straps on the front and back as well as straps that run along the bottom of the cover that go under the Class C. The wind vents follow the roofline and there is one zippered access panel on the passenger side.
Included with the Class C cover is a toss bag and a storage bag.
There are 4 size options ranging from 20-32 feet. All sizes are 118 inches (9 feet 10 inches) tall and 105 inches (8 feet 9 inches) wide.
As I said earlier, the Amazon Basics Class C RV Cover is a great breathable RV cover to keep the dust off of your Class C during short term storage.
It can be a good option for moist warm climates where mildew and mold are a problem but I wouldn’t recommend this RV cover for all-weather outdoor long term storage.

The cover comes with a storage bag.

This is another Class C RV cover that is a good option for indoor or covered short term storage. It’s great for keeping the dust off and staying dry underneath but it’s not going to hold up well against strong sun and high winds.
There are 4 size options for Class C RVs ranging from 21-36 feet. Each size is 105 inches (8 feet 9 inches) wide and 9 feet tall.
Be sure and measure the entire height of the RV from under the bumper to the highest point on the roof to make sure this RV cover will fit.
The Empire Covers ProTECHtor Class C RV Cover is an affordable option to keep your Class C clean when stored inside for winter.
It’s not going to be great for long term or outside storage but sometimes all you need is a nice thin piece of material that’s big enough to go over your RV for storage.

ADCO Designer Series Class C RV Cover
ADCO is one of the lead names in RV covers and their Designer Series is a great option for moderate climates and covered outdoor storage.
It’s tougher than some of the single-layered RV covers on this list but not quite tough enough for all-weather outdoor storage.
One thing people love about ADCO covers is its stylish look and design. If you store your RV next to your house and want it to look nice year-round, ADCO is an excellent choice.
The roof fabric is a triple-layered SFS AquaShed fabric that resists UV rays and water. The sides are also triple-layered and made of polypropylene.
The roof fabric is made to extend down over the sides for more water protection and the seams are reinforced so they won’t easily tear in the wind. There are vents on the sides for increased airflow and to relieve pressure from the wind.

There are two large zippered access panels on the passenger side and tension panels in the front and back for a snug more secure fit.
There are integrated wind straps that go partially up the sides of the RV cover and under the RV to help keep the cover from billowing in the wind.
Included with the ADCO cover are rain gutter protectors, a ladder cap, a storage bag, toss bags, and a repair patch.
There are 4 size options ranging from 20-32 feet. Each size option is 102 inches (8 feet 6 inches) wide, and 110 inches (9 feet 2 inches tall).
Be sure to measure the lowest to the highest point to be sure the cover is tall enough for your Class C. Always measure by hand and never trust the factory specs for length, width, and height.
The ADCO Designer Series Class C RV Cover is a great RV cover that offers moderate protection for short terms or covered storage options.
It’s a good choice for a lighter RV cover that will last much longer than Class C covers with fewer layers.

How To Measure A Travel Trailer For The Right RV Cover
When measuring for a travel trailer cover the most important thing to remember is to not include the hitch in your length measurement.
Only measure from the furthest point on the back (bumper, ladder, or spare tire) to the furthest point in the front.
Most travel trailers have a front that curves up from the bottom then about a quarter of the way up starts to curve back again for a more aerodynamic shape. Make sure you measure the part that sticks out the most.
For the height most RV cover manufacturers want you to measure from under the travel trailer to the highest point on the roof, which will include the AC unit or vent cover depending on what is the tallest.

Most covers are going to be a standard height and width and only the length will change.
If you have a custom travel trailer like a toy hauler that is a little taller and wider than most be sure to find a brand that will be big enough for your specific trailer or check out the toy hauler section further on in the article.

Kind Bird Upgraded Travel Trailer RV Cover
King Bird makes some of the best RV covers on the market today and their travel trailer covers are no different. It’s got some of the thickest materials and is one of the best all-weather outdoor storage covers you can get.
The roof fabric, which is a very important part to a good outdoor RV cover is made with 5 layers of non-woven fabric with a white top layer that protects against UV sun rays, rain, and snow.
The side fabric is made with 3 layers of the same stuff so your trailer gets full protection on all sides.
The wind is one of the biggest enemies to RV covers next to the sun and King Bird has plenty of protection against both.
There are 4 integrated straps on the side of the cover. They go about halfway up the trailer on each side and are secured by reinforced fabric tabs that won’t tear easily in high winds.
The straps go under the trailer and are connected with quick-connect weatherproof buckles.
The front and back have 3 adjustable tension panel straps that are also connected to the RV cover with thick durable fabric tabs. These tension panels are used to snug up the fabric on each end for a tight custom fit for different sizes or travel trailers.
The bottom hems are also elastic so they will hug the bottom of your trailer and not flap around.
See Also: Best Portable Power Stations That Include Solar Panels
Most RV cover companies only include integrated straps but King Bird goes one step further and includes two heavy-duty straps that go around the entire travel trailer on each end to make sure the wind isn’t able to blow the cover off.
It’s a great idea and makes King Bird RV covers an excellent choice for areas with high winds and frequent storms.
There are 3 air vents on each side to not only help the cover breathe and dry in case it gets wet inside but to also let any air that gets under the cover escape to keep it from billowing in the wind and ripping.
There are zippered access panels on each side so you can enter your RV without having to remove the RV cover.
Included with the travel trailer cover is a storage bag, an adhesive patch, and 4 wheel covers which are a very nice addition to the RV cover since most travel trailer covers don’t fully cover the wheels leaving them exposed to the sun.
There are 5 size options that will fit travel trailers as short as 18 feet and as long as 33.5 feet. No matter what size you buy each travel trailer cover is 105 inches wide (8 feet 9 inches) and 108 inches tall (9 feet).
Make sure you double check the width and height of your travel trailer to make sure this brand of RV cover will fit.
The Kind Bird Upgraded Travel Trailer RV Cover is one of the best out there for full protection and my choice for the best travel trailer cover.
RV covers aren’t invincible but King Bird has done their best to give you a thick, durable cover that will protect your travel trailer through rain or snow for years.

Classic Accessories SkySheild RV Travel Trailer Cover
Classic Accessories is another fantastic RV cover brand that has a ton of size options even for smaller or longer travel trailers.
The skysheild RV cover has a roof is made with multiple layers of bonded DuPoint Tyvek fabric that is resistant to UV rays and water.
The sides are two layers of Permapro ripstop fabric that resists tears and makes the RV cover extra durable.
Finally, the bottom portion of the RV cover is made with heavy-duty polyester fabric that is extra thick so the under straps have something strong to hold onto.
This is another great travel trailer cover for windy climates and outdoor storage. There are integrated wind straps that go under the trailer and buckle together for a secure windproof connection.
There are also two tension straps on the front and back that snug up the extra fabric and help the cover look more fitted.

The corners are elastic so every part of the cover should securely wrap under the travel trailer. There are 5 air vents on each side of the cover near the roofline to help reduce wind stress and to help everything dry in order to reduce mold and mildew.
There are a lot of zippered access panels on the SkySheild so you should be able to get into every part of your travel trailer without any issues.
Included with the travel trailer cover is a compressing storage bag, a repair/reinforcement patch, and a weighted toss puck you use to toss the straps under your trailer so there’s no need to crawl under when installing the RV cover.
As I said before there are a ton of size options for all different lengths of travel trailers. Classic Accessories makes 10 different options that are as short as 15 feet and as long as 40 feet. These covers will even fit toy hauler travel trailers.
The travel trailer cover height does change depending on what length you choose so make sure you keep an eye on what height you will end up with.
The Classic Accessories SkySheild RV Travel Trailer Cover is another excellent choice for outdoor or even covered storage. It offers fantastic protection against the elements including sun, wind, and rain.
It’s also fairly lightweight even though it has a lot of layers of fabric which makes it easier to install without help from other people.
PROS
- 2 Side Layers
- Zippered Access Points
- Integrated Wind Straps
- Water Repellant & Windproof
- Fits Toy Hauler Travel Trailers
- Lots Of Size Options
CONS
- No Ladder Cap Included
- No Tire Covers Included
Leader Accessories Travel Trailer RV Cover
The Leader Accessories travel trailer cover is a fantastic option for winter or short term storage in areas where high winds are not a problem or if your trailer is going to be stored under a shelter or indoors.
The reason I say this is the Leader Accessories travel trailer cover only has one layer of fabric on the sides. This makes it great for moist climates because the cover will dry quickly but it can greatly reduce wind durability.
The roof is made with 3 layers of fabric that are UV and water-resistant. It’s also breathable like the side fabric and made with durable ripstop.
The seams are double-stitched which is a great way to help the cover stay together during storms and long exposure to the sun.
The hems are elastic and there are 3 air vents along each side of the cover. This helps with wind stress and helps the cover breathe and dry.
The corners are also reinforced with extra fabric to help with the natural stress points that come from the edges of a trailer.
There are buckled straps that go under the trailer to secure the RV cover against the wind as well as two long straps that go around the entire travel trailer that uses loops to stay in place.
These are all excellent wind-resistant features but the reason I wouldn’t suggest this cover for areas that experience lots of high winds is the side fabric just isn’t bulky enough to be considered completely windproof.
That being said this is still an excellent cover for short term storage or storage under a roof.

There are tension panels on the front and back that make an X which is a great design for getting the cover to fit the length of your travel trailer just right.
There are also multiple zippered access panels along the sides that will allow you to get into your trailer even when the cover is on.
Included with the trailer cover are a storage bag, a toss puck, and a ladder cap which is an extra piece of fabric that goes over the top of your travel trailer ladder to protect it.
The cover comes in 4 different colors which is a very rare option for travel trailer covers. There are also 9 different size options ranging from as short as 14 feet and as long as 38 feet.
No matter what length you get the covers are 102 inches (8 feet 6 inches) wide and 104 inches (8 feet 8 inches) tall. Be sure to measure everything to make sure the cover will be tall enough for a snug but not tight fit.
The Leader Accessories Travel Trailer RV Cover is a great travel trailer cover for short term or covered RV storage.
It’s not going to hold up against the wind and sun as well as a thicker cover but it will protect your travel trailer a good amount.
PROS
- Zippered Access Points
- 2 Straps That Go Around Entire Trailer
- Water Repellant
- Multiple Color Options
- Lots Of Size Options
- Ladder Cap Included
CONS
- No Tire Covers Included
- Single Layered Side Fabric
ADCO Designer Series Tyvek Travel Trailer RV Cover
There are two different kinds of ADCO travel trailer covers I want to review in this article. They are both basically the same except for what the roof fabric is made of.
The ADCO DuPont Tyvek travel trailer pictured above is their ultra-durable all-weather outdoor storage travel trailer cover.
The SFS series (click to view on Amazon) is a more affordable option that is made for mild climates or short term storage.
The sides are made with the same material as the Tyvek version but the roof fabric is SFS aqua shed which is meant to be more breathable and better for mild, moist climates. It’s not a great trailer cover for sitting out in the sun for a long time.
Getting back to the Tyvek version, the roof fabric is 3 layers of UV and water-resistant fabric with a Tyvek coating that is white to keep the RV cooler and reflect the sun better.
It’s more durable than other kinds of roof fabrics and a great option if your trailer spends a lot of time out in the sun and needs some extra protection.
The sides are made with triple-layered polypropylene that is thick but breathable and great at holding up against the wind. There are also 3 air vents on each side for more airflow and to minimize wind stress.

There are multiple integrated wind straps that go under the trailer to hold the RV cover securely in place. The corners are also elastic and they hug under the trailer.
Everything is reinforced along the top and bottom in common pressure areas which adds more protection against high winds.
There are adjustable tension panels on the front and back that snug up the cover from end to end for a tight, custom fit. There are also zippered access panels on the passenger side.
ADCO covers are known for their stylish design and are a fantastic option if you store your travel trailer next to your home and want something that looks nice.
Included with the RV cover is a storage bag, 4 tire covers, a toss bag, and a ladder cap.
There are a ton of size options with ADCO and both versions of their designer series covers. Each version has 10 sizes that will fit travel trailers as short as 14 feet and as long as 37 feet.
Make sure you measure everything including the ladder and AC unit to get the proper fit.
If your travel trailer is just barely or close to going over a size option get one size bigger.
The ADCO Designer Series Tyvek Travel Trailer RV Cover is a fantastic all-weather outdoor storage cover that comes with some great accessories for full protection storage.
If you don’t need an RV cover that is quite as beefy as the Tyvek version you can go with the thinner but still protective SFS series.
ADCO gives you plenty of options and they make RV covers for almost every RV imaginable. Chances are they have a cover that will be able to protect your RV when in storage.
PROS
- Zippered Access Points
- Water Repellant
- Lots Of Size Options
- Ladder Cap Included
- Tire Covers Included
- Triple-Layered Tyvek Roof Fabric
CONS
- Not As Windproof As Some Would Like
Amazon Basics Travel Trailer Cover
The Amazon Basics travel trailer cover is a basic RV cover that is good for keeping the dust off of your trailer as well as some sun. It’s a great option for mild climates or for use when storing under a roof or in a garage.
The roof is pretty good, it’s made with triple-layered material that is UV and water repellant, and it’s white which keeps your trailer cooler in the sun than other colors do.
The sides are a single layered fabric that is breathable and great for keeping your trailer nice and clean when in storage.
There are air vents along the sides which makes this an excellent travel trailer cover for humid climates because it will dry faster than the covers with thicker fabric on the sides.
There are 4 straps that go under the trailer to secure it against the wind. The straps go about a quarter of the way up the cover and are fastened with thick fabric tabs.
It’s a better system than other covers but not the best for places that can experience high winds.

The corners are elastic and there are two tension panel straps on both the front and the back. There is also a zippered access panel on the front passenger side you can use to get into your trailer.
If your trailer has an access door towards the back this may not be the best choice of RV cover for you.
Amazon Basics gives you 6 different size options for travel trailers that are 18-33 feet long. No matter what size you choose the covers are 118 inches (9 feet 10 inches) tall, which is actually pretty tall.
If you have a tall toy hauler travel trailer this may fit better than other shorter travel trailer covers.
Included with the RV cover is a storage bag and a toss bag for easier, no crawl, installation of the wind straps.
The Amazon Basics Travel Trailer Cover is a decent option for covered or short term storage.
I’m not always a fan of single-layered side fabric but it could be a better option for those who live in humid climates and what a cover that will dry quickly and keep your RV mold and mildew free.
PROS
- Water Repellant
- White Roof Fabric
- Lots Of Size Options
CONS
- No Tire Covers Included
- Single Layered Side Fabric
- Only One Zippered Access Panel
- No Ladder Cap Included
Last but not least for travel trailer covers there is the XGEAR cover. The roof is made with 4 layers of rip-stop, anti-UV, and water repellant fabric. The sides are made with similar single layered fabric.
The hems are elastic and there are straps that go under the trailer to secure the cover but they have also added two large straps that go around the entire travel trailer for extra protection against the wind.
It’s a good idea to add these kinds of straps but the single-layered side fabric may be an issue in storms and high winds.
There are adjustable tension panels that make an x on the front and back for a snug custom fit for different sizes of trailers.
There are also multiple zippered access panels which are great for travel trailers that have the main access door towards the back.
See Also: Best Portable Propane Tabletop Grills & BBQs For Camping
Included with the RV cover is a storage bag, a repair patch, and two toss bags for no crawl installation of the wind straps.
There are 6 size options for travel trailers ranging from 14 to 33 feet long. No matter what size you get all the covers are 104 inches (8 feet 8 inches) tall. Be sure to measure from the lowest to the highest point to make sure your travel trailer isn’t too tall for the cover.
The XGEAR Travel Trailer Cover is another good short term of covered storage cover.
I include thinner covers like these for those who need a good RV cover that will keep the dust and bird poop off of their travel trailer when sitting in winter or even summer storage.
Open storage units are often dirty and there is always a risk of something scratching your trailer, extra protection isn’t a bad idea.
PROS
- Water Repellant
- White Roof Fabric
- Lots Of Size Options
- Multiple Zippered Access Panels
CONS
- No Tire Covers Included
- Single Layered Side Fabric
- No Ladder Cap Included
Best 5th-Wheel Covers
How To Measure A 5th-Wheel For The Right RV Cover
Most 5th-wheel covers go around the body of the trailer and the part that sticks out. They don’t cover the hitch, under the hitch area, or the front storage area.
When you measure the length you will start from the furthest point in the back whether it’s the bumper, ladder, or spare tire and go to the furthest point on the front that isn’t the hitch.
That means if your 5th-wheel’s hitch sticks out past the body of the trailer you will not include it in your measurements.
If it doesn’t stick out you still don’t need to worry about it or measure it.
The height is measured the same way you would a travel trailer, from the lowest point under the 5th-wheel to the highest accessory on the roof.
If you have a toy hauler 5th-wheel check out the toy hauler section below to find the right kind of cover.

RVMasking Upgraded 5th-Wheel Cover
This is the newer upgraded version of RVMaskings 5th-wheel cover. It’s thicker, more durable, and much better than the original version.
The roof is made with 6 layers of rip-stop non-woven fabric. Most of the layers are made to strengthen the cover and hold up against time and the elements.
One layer is actually waterproof which is better than the water resistant fabric most other RV cover companies use.
The sides are made with 3 layers of non-woven rip-stop fabric with a layer of waterproof film.
The sides and the roof have an inner PVC cotton lining which helps prevent scratches and makes the 5th-wheel cover more breathable. I love it when they add the PVC cotton because it makes the entire cover more protective and better for the paint job on the trailer.
There are a total of 12 straps and buckles that go under the 5th-wheel to secure the cover against the wind. The hems and corners are elastic so the cover will hug the edges and corners of the trailer and not flap around in the wind.
RVMasking has also included 6 reinforcement pieces you can use to cover the sharp pressure points on the trailer like where the ends of the gutters stick out. If you use them your 5th-wheel cover will last much longer and become more windproof.
See Also: Best RV Cell Phone Boosters That Actually Boost Signal
There are also tension straps on the front and back you use to snug up any extra fabric for a secure fit and custom looking cover.
You want the cover to fit snug but not tight, a loose cover will billow in the wind and possibly tear, that’s why front and back tension panels are so important.
There are 4 air vents on both sides which help the cover breathe. You want the 5th-wheel to stay dry underneath the cover to prevent mold and mildew growth.
The air vents also help release any air that might get under the cover during a storm which keeps the cover from tearing at the seams.
There are 3 large zippered access panels that run along the passenger side so you can get into your 5th-wheel no matter where the door is located.
Included with the cover is a storage bag, gutter protectors/reinforcement patches, a ladder cap, tire covers, and a repair patch.
There are lots of size options that can fit a small 5th-wheel that’s only 28 feet long to a larger size that is up to 43.6 feet long.
The RVMasking Upgraded 5th-Wheel Cover is a fantastic choice for all-weather outdoor and long term storage. It has a ton of protection against the sun, rain, and snow.
It is just a cover which means the more sun it has to deal with the faster it will break down but compared to a lot of other choices this is going to be one of the best 5th-wheel covers you can get.
PROS
- 6 Layers On Top
- 3 Side Layers
- Zippered Access Points
- Integrated Wind Straps
- Water Repellant & Windproof
- Ladder Cap Included
- Inner PVC Cotton Layer
- Tire Covers Included
CONS
- None
King Bird Deluxe 5th-Wheel Cover
King Bird has been my number one choice of RV cover for a lot of these different categories and the 5th-wheel version is also an excellent durable all-weather outdoor storage cover.
It’s made with 5 layers of white Anti-UV and water ripstop fabric on the roof and has 3 thick layers of tough fabric on the sides.
One thing the King Bird brand does very well is wind straps. They have 5 wind straps that go under the 5th-wheel and stop about halfway up the sides of the cover.
They are then attached with thick tabs that are very secure and great for high winds. In addition to those wind straps, they also have two large heavy-duty straps that go around the entire trailer to protect the cover that much more.
There are tension panels on the front, under the hitch area, and the back. This 5th-wheel cover should not have any troubles in high winds and will form to your trailer like a custom make RV cover would.
See Also: How To Replace The Leaf Springs On A Dual Axle Trailer
Like most RV covers the hems are elastic so they hug under the trailer. There are 3 air vents on each side to help the cover dry better whenever it gets wet and to relieve wind stress.
There is also a zippered door/access panel on the side to allow you to get into your trailer without taking the cover off.
Unlike most RV covers this one comes with 4 tire covers which are an excellent addition because most RV covers aren’t made to go over the tires which means you need to get tire covers for full protection.
Along with the tire and RV covers, there is also a storage bag and a repair patch included.
There are three size options for 5th-wheels, 26-29 feet, 29-33 feet and 37-41 feet. All options are 102 inches (8 feet 6 inches) wide, and 120 inches (10 feet) tall.
The King Bird Deluxe 5th-Wheel Cover is a great option for outdoor storage and it will hold up much better than covers that use fewer fabric layers.
There are limited size options but if your 5th-wheel fits into one of the two choices King Bird is a great way to go.
PROS
- 5 Layers On Top
- 3 Side Layers
- Zippered Access Points
- Integrated Wind Straps
- Water Repellant & Windproof
- Tire Covers Included
CONS
- No ladder Cap Included
ADCO Designer Series Tyvek Fifth-Wheel Cover
ADCO covers make stylish RV covers that are great looking but not fantastic for all-weather outdoor storage. I still really like this 5th-wheel cover for a few reasons but I wanted to state upfront that this is a cover that does better when your 5th-wheel is under a roof.
The roof and sides are both made with 3 layers of water and UV resistant fabric. The roof is white and advertised to be covered in Dupont Tyvek which is known for it’s resistance to the sun and extreme outdoor durability.
Like many covers, there are straps that go under the trailer to secure the cover against the wind. There are also tension panels on the front and back for a custom look.
The hems are elastic and there are 3 air vents on each side. There are also zippered access panels on the side.
RV Life Hack: How To Check How Much Propane You Have Left
Included with the cover is a storage bag, a toss bag (helps you throw straps under the trailer so there’s no need to crawl), a ladder cap, and 4 tire covers.
One thing ADCO is doing right is they offer a lot of size options for 5th-wheels. There are 8 different choices for 5th-wheels ranging from 23-43.6 feet.
ADCO designs its RV covers to accommodate rooftop accessories but be sure to measure and double-check the cover overall height before purchasing.
The ADCO Designer Series Tyvek Fifth-Wheel Cover can be a bit of a letdown if you need something that will hold up against lots of sun and wind but it’s a good option for short term or covered storage.
It’s still a very durable 5th-wheel cover made with heavy fabrics and a good way to protect your 5th-wheel when not in use.
PROS
- 3 Side Layers
- Zippered Access Points
- Integrated Wind Straps
- Water Repellant & Windproof
- Tire Covers Included
- Lots Of Size Options
- Ladder Cap Included
CONS
- Not Known To Do Well In Strong Sun Or Wind
Leader Accessories 5th-Wheel Cover
The Leader Accessories is the last 5th-wheel cover I want to review. You may have noticed that there aren’t as many options for 5th-wheel covers as there are other kinds of RV covers.
The main reason is 5th-wheel covers need to be durable because there’s a lot to cover and they need to fit well. Unfortunately there just aren’t a ton of fifth-wheel covers that meet the criteria for good RV covers that are worth it.
This 5th-wheel cover is another great option for covered or short term storage. It’s made with lighter fabrics and is a more affordable option for those who just need a cover to keep the dust off.
The roof is made with triple-layered non-woven ripstop fabric that is water and UV resistant. The sides only use a single layer of the same kind of fabric.
The corners are reinforced which makes the single-layered side fabric more durable and wind resistant than other single-ply RV covers.
There are only two straps that go under the trailer to secure the cover against the wind. That means this is not a cover for areas that get high winds unless you add a few more straps of your own.
There is a tension panel in the front and back which helps snug up the cover for a better fit. The corners are also elastic.
There are 3 air vents on each side which help the cover breathe and dry when it gets wet. Since the sides are only single-layered the fabric will dry faster than thicker RV covers which makes this a good option for humid climates.

There are two zippered access panels on the passenger side.
There are 4 size options that are long enough for 5th-wheels from 26-41 feet long. No matter what size you get each cover is 102 inches (8 feet 6 inches) wide and 120 inches (10 feet) tall. There are also two color options grey and blue.
The included accessories make the Leader Accessories 5th-wheel cover a little special. You get the standard storage bag, toss bag, repair patch, and ladder cap, but they also include one unique thing.
To make the installation of the cover easier there are two steel poles included you can use to pull the cover over the 5th-wheel so you don’t have to climb on top.
It’s a safer way to do it and better for folks who don’t feel comfortable walking on top of trailers.
The Leader Accessories 5th-Wheel Cover is a fantastic choice for a light RV cover for short term or covered storage. It’s also great for humid climates that have problems with mold and mildew growth.
I don’t recommend this 5th-wheel cover for all-weather outdoor storage or sunny and windy climates but it’s a great way to keep the dust off and add just a little bit more protection.
PROS
- Zippered Access Points
- Water Repellant
- Lots Of Size Options
- Ladder Cap Included
- Easy Installation Poles
- Two Color Options
CONS
- Not For Sunny Or Windy Climates
- Only Single Layered Sides
- Not Windproof

How To Measure A Toy Hauler For The Right RV Cover
In this section, you will find covers for both 5th-wheel toy haulers and travel trailer toy haulers.
The only difference between these covers and regular ones is they have a zippered opening in the back so you can open the back ramp without removing the cover.
There are limited options so if you don’t find a cover for your specific RV or protection needs you can use a regular 5th-wheel or travel trailer cover if the measurements fit your trailer.

When measuring you will use the same parameters as regular 5th-wheels or travel trailers. Check those sections above to specific instructions on how to measure for an RV cover.

North East Harbor Travel Trailer Toy Hauler Cover
The North East Harbor travel trailer toy hauler cover is an affordable option with single layered side fabric and 4 layered roof fabric.
It’s not going to be fantastic for long-term all-weather storage but it’s a good option for short term or covered storage and areas where the climate is mild and there aren’t a lot of high winds.
The thing that makes this RV cover for toy haulers is there is a back panel that opens up allowing you to open the ramp without removing the cover. There are also zippered access panels on the passenger side.
It’s also taller than other travel trailer covers. If you don’t need to open the back and want a cover that is extra durable you can check out the travel trailer section above for an all-weather cover that will fit.
The roof is water and UV resistant and durable due to the 4 layers of polypropylene.
The sides are single layered which makes it less resistant to high winds but it will dry faster than thicker sided covers and better for humid climates where mold and mildew growth is an issue. There are also air vents along the sides which help the cover breathe and dry even faster.

There are straps that go under the trailer and front and back tension panels to secure the RV cover to the toy hauler.
Included with the cover is a storage bag.
There are quite a few size options I’ll link to here: 16-18 foot, 18-20 foot, 22-24 foot, 24-27 foot, 27-30 foot, and 30-33 foot. Each size fits travel trailer toy haulers up to 104 inches (8 feet 8 inches) wide.
The North East Harbor Travel Trailer Toy Hauler Cover is a great option if you want a simple RV cover that will open in the back so you can put down the ramp without removing everything.
It’s not going to be good for outdoor all-weather protection but it will keep the dust off and reduce sun damage in covered or short-term storage.
PROS
- Zippered Access Points
- Water Repellant
- Lots Of Size Options
- 4 Roof Layers
CONS
- Not For Sunny Or Windy Climates
- Only Single Layered Sides
- Not Windproof
ADCO Designer Series Tyvek Travel Trailer Toy Hauler Cover
The ADCO travel trailer toy hauler cover is going to be one of the only options for an all-weather RV cover that opens in the back so you can put the ramp down without removing anything.
The roof is made with triple-layered DuPont Tyvek fabric which is known for its excellent ability to repel water and stop dangerous UV rays.
It’s also white which reflects the sun and is cooler underneath. The sides are made with 3 layers of thick heavy-duty fabric that offers great protection against the elements.
There are multiple straps that go under the trailer and are secured to the sides of the cover and reinforced for better protection against tearing in high winds.
There are tension panels on the front and back to snug up any extra fabric for a secure custom look. The hems are also elastic.

The cover is breathable and has 3 air vents on each side.
Along with the access panel on the back, there are access panels along the passenger side as well.
Included with the cover is a storage bag, a toss bag, 4 tire covers, and a ladder cap.
There are lots of size options ranging from under 20 foot to 40 foot travel trailer toy haulers.
The ADCO Designer Series Tyvek Travel Trailer Toy Hauler Covers are known for their stylish design but aren’t great for climates with strong sun or winds.
That being said this is one of the most durable travel trailer toy hauler covers available with a back panel that opens and allows the ramp to be put down.
PROS
- 3 Side Layers
- Zippered Access Points
- Integrated Wind Straps
- Water Repellant & Windproof
- Tire Covers Included
- Lots Of Size Options
- Ladder Cap Included
CONS
- Not Known To Do Well In Strong Sun Or Wind
ADCO Designer Series Tyvek 5th-Wheel Toy Hauler Cover
Much like the travel trailer version the ADCO 5th-wheel toy hauler cover is one of the few RV covers that has an access panel in the back that allows you to open the ramp without removing the cover.
The roof and sides are both made with 3 layers of water and UV resistant fabric. The roof is white and advertised to be covered in Dupont Tyvek which is known for it’s resistance to the sun and extreme outdoor durability.
Wind straps go under the trailer to secure the cover against the wind. There are also tension panels on the front and back for a custom look and snug fit.
The hems are elastic and there are 3 air vents on each side. There are also zippered access panels on the side as well.

Included with the cover is a storage bag, a toss bag (helps you throw straps under the trailer so there’s no need to crawl), a ladder cap, and 4 tire covers.
There are 8 size options for toy haulers as short as 23 feet and as long as 43.6 feet.
As I’ve stated a few times before when talking about ADCO covers they are made with fantastic material and look amazing but aren’t great at holding up against long exposure to strong sun and winds.
The same goes for the ADCO Designer Series Tyvek 5th-Wheel Toy Hauler Covers.
This is one of the only true 5th-wheel toy hauler covers with an open back. The options are very limited but if you don’t need the back to open you can go with a regular 5th-wheel cover that is more durable if you need to store your trailer outside in harsh weather conditions.

- 3 Side Layers
- Zippered Access Points
- Integrated Wind Straps
- Water Repellant & Windproof
- Tire Covers Included

Best Truck Camper Covers
How To Measure A Truck Camper For The Right RV Cover
To measure for a truck camper you first get the length measurement by measuring from the furthest point in the front to the furthest point in the back (ladder, spare tire, steps).
It’s also a good idea to measure the truck bed footprint (part under the bed area) because some covers go by that measurement instead of the overall length.
The height is measured from under the truck camper to the highest point (ladder, AC unit, vent cover).
Do not include jacks in height measurement as the covers are only made to go under the body, not the jacks.

ADCO Aqua Shed Truck Camper Cover
ADCO only makes truck camper covers with their Aqua Shed fabric. It’s not quite as durable as their Tyvek roof but it’s still a fantastic option for short term storage or mild climates where the sun isn’t super strong.
The roof is made with 3 layers of SFS Aqua Shed fabric that is water repellant but breathable and dries fast. The sides are made with one layer of polypropylene that is also fast drying.
The corners are reinforced, the bottom hems are elastic, and there are straps that go under the truck camper to secure it against the wind. The front also has a tension panel to tighten the RV cover from the front.
See Also: How To Connect/Plug RV Camper Into Generator (15/30/50 Amp)
There is no tension panel on the back because that’s where the rear access panel is located since most truck campers have a door in the back.
Included with the truck camper cover is a storage bag and a ladder cap.
There are three size options with the Aqua Shed and you measure from the furthest point in the back to the furthest point in the front.
These covers can take truck campers from up to 192 inches (16 feet) long or up to 240 inches (20 feet) long. Each option is 104 inches (8 feet 8 inches) wide and tall.
ADCO has gotten a bad rap over the years because its RV covers can be a little disappointing when it comes to longevity and durability in high winds.
The ADCO Aqua Shed Truck Camper Cover is not an all-weather outdoor storage cover, instead, it’s made for mild climates, covered storage, or short-term use.
If you want it to last longer and hold up better outdoors you can use some of the ideas in the tip section below.
PROS
- 3 Roof Layers
- Zippered Access Point
- Wind Straps
- Water Repellant
- Lots Of Size Options
- Ladder Cap Included
CONS
- Only 1 Side Layer

Classic Accessories PermaPro Truck Camper Cover
The Classic Accessories truck camper cover is one of the few that has air vents and access panels on the sides as well as in the back.
It’s another RV cover with just a single layer of fabric on the side but it’s made with PermaPro which is a lightweight but durable ripstop fabric.
There are wind straps that go under the camper, as well as tension panels on the front, and elastic hems around the edge so the cover will hug the truck camper.
The air vents not only make this cover better for humid or wet climates but they also relieve air pressure in the wind which keeps the weak points like the seams from breaking.
Because this is another RV cover with single-layered sides it’s not going to be fantastic in strong sun or winds but is a good choice for covered or short term storage.
Because there are limited options when it comes to truck camper covers you may want to add extra straps and tarps to make it more durable. These additions should make it more windproof and better for all-weather storage.

Included with the cover is a weighted toss bag and a duffle storage bag.
There are two size options 8-10 feet and 10-12 feet. The sizes are categorized a little differently, the cover lengths go by the measurements of the lower part that goes in the truck bed.
That means you will measure from the part under the bed to the furthest point in the back.
Just to make sure it will fit you can use the total measurements. For the 8-10 foot model the truck camper is 217 inches (18 feet 1 inch) in total length, 106 inches (8 feet 10 inches) wide, and 95 inches (7 feet 11 inches) tall.
The larger 10-12 foot model is around 241 inches (20 feet 1 inch) long, 106 inches (8 feet 10 inches) wide, and 102 inches (8 feet 6 inches) tall.
The Classic Accessories PermaPro Truck Camper Cover is a fantastic cover with lots of nice additions like the air vents.
Even though it’s only a single-layered RV cover it’s one of the best options out there for truck campers since there isn’t a ton out there. It’s my choice for the best truck camper cover.
PROS
- 3 Roof Layers
- Multiple Zippered Access Points
- Wind Straps
- Water Repellant
- Air Vents
CONS

North East Harbor Truck Camper Cover
The North East Harbor truck camper cover is surprisingly durable and one of the best options for outdoor storage.
The roof is made with 4 layers of bonded polypropylene that is water and UV resistant. The sides are single-layered but still durable with reinforced corners for more strength.
The wind straps go about a quarter of the way up to prevent billowing in the wind and the edges are elastic. There are air vents that run along the top to help relieve wind pressure and to keep inside the RV cover dry.
Included with the cover is a repair patch and a storage bag.

Best Tent Trailer/Pop-Up Camper Covers
How To Measure A Tent Trailer/Pop-Up Camper For The Right RV Cover
Tent trailers or folding trailers are easy to measure and cover because they are basically just a large rectangle.
The cover is for when the trailer is in the folded position and not meant to cover the hitch.
If you want the cover to go over the hitch you can buy a larger version and use the extra material to wrap around it if you want.
Include anything on the back like a spare tire or bike rack that you want to be covered. Tent trailer covers are not made to go over the tires all the way.

Included with the tent trailer cover is a toss bag and a storage duffel bag.
There are 6 size options that will fit trailers from 8-20 feet long. Be sure to check the height and width measurements of the size suited to your pop-up trailer to make sure it can cover everything and still fold under.
The Classic Accessories PermaPro Tent Trailer Cover is fantastic. It has a lot of great extra features and will keep your tent trailer clean and mold-free when in storage.

There are straps and buckles included which go under the trailer to secure the cover to it. There is also a front and back rope system used to tighten the cover around the sides as well.

The ADCO SFS Aqua Shed Pop-Up Trailer Cover is a decent cover made with some fantastic roof fabric.

Formosa Covers Tent Trailer Cover
Formosa Covers’ version of the tent trailer cover is simple yet durable.
It doesn’t have all the fancy air vents and things you will find on other kinds of covers but it’s a good option for short term storage and a good way to keep your tent trailer clean over the winter.
The fabric is polypropylene which means it’s durable, water and UV resistant, and breathable. It won’t keep all the water out in heavy rainstorms but it should dry fairly quickly once the sun comes out.
You secure the pop-up camper cover using reinforced grommets located at the bottom of the cover. You can use cables to tie it underneath. There are also two adjustable tension straps on the back panel to tighten the sides of the cover.
The corners are also elastic to help keep the cover secured against the wind.

Best Teardrop/R-Pod Trailer Covers
How To Measure A Teardrop/R-Pod For The Right RV Cover
Much like travel trailers, teardrop trailers are measured from the furthest point in the back to the front of the trailer and not the hitch.
Make sure you find the point on the front that sticks out the most.
The height is measured from the bottom of the teardrop trailer to the top. Most teardrops don’t have an AC unit but if there is a fan cover on the very top be sure to measure that as well.
Also, the width can be a deciding factor when choosing a cover as teardrop trailers come in many different widths, unlike normal campers which normally all have standard measurements.
Take everything into account before purchasing a cover for your teardrop trailer.

Unfortunately, there are very few options when it comes to teardrop and R-pod trailer covers. If you have a very small custom-built one you may need to get the closest size option and use extra straps to secure it.

This eliminates having to crawl and have another person grab the strap from you on the other side.
There’s an air vent along the roofline on each side which helps prevent mold and mildew while also relieving pressure from any wind that may find it’s way under the RV cover.
The bottom corners are also elasitc for a snug fit. There is an access panel on the passenger side so you can access your trailer even with the cover on.

Tips For Installing Your RV Cover & Keeping It Nice
Get It In The Right Position
Before carrying your new RV cover up the ladder and onto the roof of your RV or trailer it’s a good idea to unroll it and make sure you know where the back of the cover is and if there are any holes or problems with it.
Once you unroll it on the ground roll it back up so when you unroll it on top of the rv it will be layed out in the correct position.
Some RV covers require you to flip them over and roll them back up the other way to be correct.
Cover All The Sharp Edges
The key to making an RV cover last a long time is stopping any pressure points from poking into the cover.
If something sharp like the blades of an antenna or the ends of the gutter are sticking into the cover they could poke a hole over time and become a tear when the wind starts to blow.
Lots of RV covers come with gutter guards you can use to cover these sharp spots but you can also use things like pool noodles to cover anything that may become a problem later on.
Add More Protection
It can be hard to find the perfect RV cover for your specific needs and even the spendy ones can still seem a little too thin.
One thing you can do to keep the tarp nicer longer especially if you are going to leave it out in the hot sun for a summer is put a light colored tarp over the roof. This will stop the RV cover from getting so damaged by the sun and keep it nicer much longer.
It may seem silly to cover a cover but a tarp is more affordable than a brand new RV cover.
Use Poles
If you aren’t comfortable climbing or walking on top of your RV you can use long PVC poles to pull the cover across the roof.
This method requires two people and a little teamwork but it may end up being safer in the long run.
