The Compact EBL Voyager 500 Packs a Punch

Today I’m reviewing the EBL Voyager 500, a 519Wh portable power station with a 500W inverter that’s surprisingly compact.

It’s not just for camping either. With AC, DC, USB, and wireless charging options, it works great for road trips, fishing, short power outages, and backing up small appliances.

Let’s dive in.

EBL Voyager 500 Specifications

Battery Capacity

The Voyager 500 uses lithium-ion with 519.4Wh capacity. It’ll power a 50W device for about 8.5 hours, assuming 85% efficiency through the inverter.

Power Inverter

The built-in pure sine wave inverter outputs 500W. That’s enough for small fridges, coffee makers, fans and TVs.

I tested it with battery chargers, a TV, a gaming console, and a desktop computer and didn’t have any issues. At most, I was using 420W.

Ports

The Voyager 500 has 10 output ports:

  • 2 × 110V AC outlets (pure sine wave)
  • 3 × 14V DC outlets
  • 1 × USB-C PD 60W port
  • 3 × USB-A QC 3.0 ports
  • 1 × Wireless charging pad (10W)

All ports are on the front and clearly labeled. The AC, DC, and USB buttons are responsive with LED indicators.

The wireless charger sits on top but it didn’t charge my phone very fast. The 10W rating is questionable.

Charging

There are three ways to recharge the battery:

  • Wall outlet (AC): 6–7 hours with included charger
  • Car outlet (12V): 8–10 hours with included cable
  • Solar panel: 6–9 hours with compatible panel (not included) using MC4 to 7909 adapter (included). It also has an Anderson Powerpole input. Both are limited to panels with a working voltage between 12-26V, and up to 6A.

It reported 102W using a 100W solar panel, so I believe it has a very efficient MPPT solar charge controller.

A solar panel is not included with the power station, but there are a lot of compatible panels on the market.

Display

Shows input/output wattage, battery percentage, active ports, and charging status. Basic but functional, and visible in sunlight. No temperature or time-to-empty indicators though.

My Review

What I Like

Lightweight for its class

It’s not ultralight, but the compact design and foldable handle make it perfect for car camping or home use without eating up space.

Versatile ports

You can charge or power 10 devices at once. The 60W USB-C is especially useful. I ran a TV and speaker from AC while charging a laptop and phone via USB.

Three charging methods

AC and car chargers work as expected. I tested a 100W solar panel too, and the Voyager handled it great under clear skies.

What I Don’t Like

No WiFi/Bluetooth

Can’t monitor or control it from your phone. Not essential, but would’ve been nice.

No USB-C input

The USB-C port is output only. You can’t charge the power station via USB-C, which limits flexibility when traveling light.

Weak Qi-Pad

According to EBL, the charging pad on top if 10W, but it was not charging my phone as fast as the 10W charging pad I usually use. A problem with my unit, my phone, or a cheap part? I don’t know, but something I wanted to mention.

One year warranty

EBL offers a one-year warranty, which I have realized is not long enough for a power station like this.

Bottom Line

The EBL Voyager 500 is solid in the portable 500W category. With its variety of ports, efficient inverter, and light build, it’s great for weekend trips or home backup.

In 2025, there are a lot of power station options, though. And it all comes down to what you need and the best deal you can find.

If you want a well-rounded power station that covers the essentials without getting bulky or too expensive, this one’s worth checking out.
