Caddis Flats Campground Info
The Caddis Flats Campground is a free place to spend a few days along the San Miguel River. There’s a boat ramp, vault toilets, and some great places to fish.
It’s awesome that this campground is free but there are only 3 designated campsites with fire pits and picnic tables.
When we got here the campsite next to the vault toilets was open but we chose to camp along the large parking area so we could be close to the river.

The parking area could easily hold a couple of RVs and the night we camped there a van and car camped next to us.

Before the parking area there are two vault toilets and a small gravel boat ramp.
The boat ramp is very basic and only good for small fishing boats and rafts.

Near the boat ramp is a day use picnic table with a fire pit next to it.
The road that goes around this table is for turning around and you aren’t allowed to camp on it.
Caddis Flats Campground Review
While this free campground has a couple of really well made campsites, there are only 3.
Luckily the parking area is pretty nice to camp in and we were happy to be able to spend a few nights there.
You are right next to the main road no matter where you camp here and there is some noise from the occasional semi-truck passing by.
The San Miguel River is really beautiful and there were a few people fishing while we were there.

If you are coming from or headed towards Telluride, Colorado it’s a fantastic place to stop and enjoy the beautiful nature in that area.
We even had a little bit of service with Verizon using a cell phone booster. The AT&T phone got no service here.
