What Size RV Bedding Do I Need For My Camper?
RVs are weird. There are a lot of things about them that seem like they should be the same as at home but more often than not they are just a little bit different.
Mattress size is one of those weird things.

In many campers, the mattresses used are just a couple of inches shorter than regular bed sizes.
These are what’s known as short camper queens and kings.
Not all campers use camper sized mattresses, but many of them do. And then you have the bunks that are all sorts of different shapes and sizes.
Finding the right kind of bedding for an entire RV can be like solving a puzzle.

In this review, we’ll go over some of the common bedroom and bunk mattress sizes and what RV sheets are going to be the best fit.
You might have to do some measuring to find out what kind of mattress you have but getting the right size of bedding will speed things up when you’re getting the RV ready for your next camping trip.
Common RV Mattress Sizes
There are an astounding variety of mattress sizes in RVs and campers. It’s impossible to say exactly what size is in what brand or model of camper.
The easiest way to know what size of mattress is in the bedroom and bunks of your RV is to measure and compare with the table below or check the measurements of the RV bed sheets reviewed in this article.
Mattress Size Name | Measurements (Width x Length) | Where They’re Found |
RV Bunk | 28″ x 75″ (single) 34″ x 75″ (twin) | Single RV bunks are commonly found in smaller campers with child size bunks. Twin RV bunks are found in larger trailers with child/adult size bunks. Can be up to 80″ long. |
3/4 Bunk | 48″ x 75″ | Often found in corner bunks with larger 3/4 bunk on bottom and single bunk above. Popular with travel trailers. |
RV Full | 54″ x 75″ | Found in fold out RV sofa beds and sometimes large bottom bunks. Sometimes 1″ smaller or larger in width. Regular full size sheets will normally work. |
RV Short Queen | 60″ x 75″ | Often just 5″-6″ shorter than a regular queen. Width is the same. Used to save space in RV. Very common RV mattress size. |
RV Short King | 72″ x 75″ | Just 5″ shorter than a regular king. RV short kings are often found in large 5th-wheels & Class A motorhomes. |
In the table above you will find common mattress sizes for RVs but that doesn’t mean what’s in your camper will match exactly. Bunk beds can be made to a custom size and can vary in size a lot.
When shopping for RV bedding you can sometimes get away with getting a sheet set that is a few inches smaller or larger than the custom mattress in your RV.
Then there’s the specially cut out corners on mattresses in some RVs. When the mattress isn’t even a rectangle you may have to just get the closest measuring bed sheet and tuck in the odd shaped corner as best you can.
Common RV mattress sizes include short queen, short king, single bunk, and 3/4 bunk. If you have a fold out sofa mattress in your RV it’s probably an RV full.
If your RV has standard mattress sizes like a regular full or queen any of these products reviewed also have those size options available.

1. Sweet Home Collection Microfiber RV Short Queen Sheets
The Sweet Home Collection RV short queen bed sheet set comes with 2 embroidered pillowcases, a deep pocket fitted sheet and a flat sheet.
The material used is a soft and durable microfiber. Microfiber sheets have become popular in the bedding world since it’s super soft but easy on the budget.
There is no thread count for microfiber but these are compared with 1500 thread count sheets. In my experience, they are very soft and definitely on the higher end as far as thread count feel goes but the feel isn’t exactly the same as cotton.
If you want a 1500 thread count cotton feel I recommend getting 1500 count cotton sheets instead.
There are multiple color options and size options.

This isn’t always a pro but it could be if your RV has a thick bunk mattress or if you want to add more foam to the mats that are already there.
For children, a thin mat is normally fine but if you want older kids or adults to be able to use the bunks as well you might need to add a little more cushion.

The IDEAhome is the only RV bedding in this review that is only a fitted bed sheet and not a set.

It measures 33 inches wide, 75 inches long, and fits mattress thicknesses up to 8 inches.
The material used is 50% cotton and 50% polyester for a mix of softness and durability. The jersey knit also makes it extra soft and nice to sleep on.

Conclusion About RV Bedding
Finding the right sizes of RV bedding can be difficult since every camper has different sizes of beds and bunks.
Different floor plans sometimes require short queen or king size mattresses to allow space for entertainment centers and walls.
The best way to make sure you get the right size of RV bed sheets is to measure first. Otherwise, you might end up with something that’s too small or large.

Also, pay attention to mattress thickness as this can also be an issue. Some bed sheets are made with deep pockets for thick mattresses but many RV bunks come with very thin mats that require fitted sheets with shallow pockets.
I hope this guide was helpful in finding the perfect size of sheets for every bed in your camper, including the dinette and sofa bed.
