In this review, we’ll take a closer look at a portable electric griddle by Vevor. More specifically their 1600W/3000W model with a 21″ cooking area. In the US, it’s 1600W (110V) and in the EU (220V) it’s 3000W.

Design and Build Quality
The Vevor griddle is constructed with what seems to be thick carbon steel, similar to more expensive commercial griddles. The bed is about half an inch thick, allowing it to retain heat exceptionally well.
Its stainless steel housing is easy to clean, and the overall design ensures durability, despite being at a lower price point. When done cooking, I wiped it down with a wet paper towel and wiped canola oil to the cooking surface.
It has a drip tray drawer that is easy to empty and clean.
Weighing 38 pounds, it’s heavy enough to stay stable during cooking but portable enough to move around if necessary.
I have been using it both indoors and outdoors, and while it is heavy it’s easy to carry. Just make sure it has had time to cool down before you try to lift it.
It is 8.7 inches tall at the most, so it’s not ideal to use it indoors on top of a stove with a low hood.
Performance
This griddle shines in heat retention due to its thick cooking surface.
However, it takes around 20-25 minutes to reach optimal cooking temperatures (around 390°F).
Once heated, it maintains a consistent temperature, with the center being the hottest.
The electric heating allows for precise temperature control, giving you excellent searing capability for meats like chicken thighs and burgers.
It made incredible smash burgers that cooked really fast as soon as it had reached at least 350°F. I use an infrared thermometer by Etekcity (click to view on Amazon) to check the temperature of the cooking surface before adding food.
The temperature knob on this model shows both Fahrenheit and Celsius, apparently the older model only showed Celcius.
Pros And Cons
Pros:
- Affordable price point (around $99 if registered on Vevor.com).
- Excellent heat retention and distribution.
- Carbon steel surface for superior seasoning and non-stick performance.
- Portable and versatile for multiple settings.
Cons:
- Takes longer to heat up compared to gas griddles.
Who is it For?
This griddle is perfect for those wanting to experience high-quality flat top cooking without spending a fortune.
It’s an excellent choice for home cooks, campers, or those who need additional cooking space for events.
Its portability makes it ideal for those who want a versatile griddle for both indoor and outdoor cooking.
Since it requires 1600W (US) and 3000W (EU), it can be powered by a lot of portable power stations in the US but not the EU. But if your gas generator can output at least 3000W (ideally 3500W) it should be able to power it without a problem.
